The death of celebrated artist M.F. Husain is surely a great loss to the world! His paintings truly inspired millions,
transcended narrow confines and highlighted the importance of artistic expression and freedom.
Unfortunately and painfully, he had to spend the last years of his life in exile literally being hounded out of India
by fascists and right-wing elements. His death - in - exile is surely a great blot on the secular fabric of the country.
At least now, the Government of India would do well by ensuring that his mortal remains are brought back
to the country and laid to rest here after providing him with a State funeral.
May his soul rest in peace!

Late MF Husain's contributed not only to Art, but also helped to expose contemporary Indian society, which is moving from plurality to polarity, which though is a minority. Among eleven hundred million people who know M F Husain? Very-very few!
